A Growing Series of Heartfelt Adventures

Lauren Hadley Kermode’s debut flip-book, Pepé the Coconut Palm and Daisy the Daisy, is the first in a planned series of children’s books that celebrate imagination, resilience, and joy. Each story introduces new characters and adventures while teaching valuable life lessons in a fun and engaging way.

Lauren’s literary journey doesn’t stop with children’s books. She’s also working on a couple of adult stories that are set to be published in 2025, broadening her audience and showcasing her versatility as an author.

A flip book is a unique and interactive book format that contains two distinct stories, one on each side of the book. Here’s how it works:

  1. Dual Stories in One Book: The book has two covers—one for each story. To access the second story, readers simply flip the book over and start reading from the other side. Each story begins at its respective cover and meets in the middle, where the pages of the two stories converge.
  2. Interactive Experience: A flip book offers a playful and engaging way for readers to experience two separate adventures in a single volume. It feels like getting two books for the price of one, with the fun element of flipping the book to discover a whole new tale.
  3. Perfect for Variety: Flip books are especially appealing for young readers because they provide variety and a sense of discovery. One side might feature a whimsical tale about a daisy with big dreams, while the other side might introduce a dancing coconut palm tree with a rhythm all his own!
  4. Keeps Readers Curious:
The format encourages exploration and curiosity, as children can choose which story to read first and enjoy the surprise of flipping the book to begin a new adventure.
